DOMESTIC FLIGHTS IN ECUADOR

There are different airlines that operate in various domestic routes  in Ecuador, you could ask for information, book or issue tickets with TURISVISION, we guarantee a personalized  as well as an efficient service.

Some routes have a greater demand than other, that is why a flight booking has to be made in advance. The majority of the routes operated in the continent are performed by different airlines. The only airline that operates in Galapagos is TAME.

Flights to the Galapagos Islands should be simple procedure, but unfortunately it is more complicated that it out to be. Flights to Galapagos is one of the routes with more demand.  Flights usually reach 2 main islands in Galapagos which are Baltra and San Cristobal.  The vast majority of tourist go to Baltra  then they will take a boat to get to Santa Cruz island.  To San Cristobal´s airport there is a less demand of people  there are less frequent flights, due to the small number of boat that operate and also the community that lives there is smaller than in Santa Cruz.  That is why  passengers can get a space to Santa Cruz  when there are no spaces to Baltra.

BOOKING SERVICES

Every airline that operates  internal  flights in Ecuador  require a confirm reservation so you could be able to  purchase your ticket.

 For people  that travel to the Galapagos Islands  in a cruise or have a hotel reservation for a specific date the  reconfirmed flight reservation will be done  directly by the hotel or boat operators.  However, those people traveling on their own to the Galapagos Islands modifying their trips adding extra days before or after the cruise or departing earlier will need to reconfirm their flights by themselves. This is important when returning to the islands, as you don't want to get to the airport and be advised that you have been dropped by the flight

CHECK IN FOR FLIGHTS

Whether traveling in the airline that you prefer  to different internal routes you must be at least one hour early  or in the case of Galapagos flights 2 hours early of the departure time. The airline will cancel the spaces of the people that do not show up in the airport  30 minutes before to confirm the unclaimed seats for waiting list passengers.

For all domestic flights, national passengers must show their ID and for foreign passenger their passport.  Specially when they traveled to the Galapagos Islands because the information will be verified  against the ticket reservation information.  The agent then will issue a boarding pass for the flight.

Now the seats are assigned  by the airline agent  in the airport  when the passenger in checking for the flight, so passenger are able to board the flight at a more leisure pace. If you travel from Quito, we recommend you to request a seat in the left side of the plane and on the right side when returning.  On clear days  this sitting positions offer a great view of the volcanoes.

BAGGAGE

In domestic flights, the airlines allow a maximum of 20 kilos (50 pounds) and a small hand bag.  Excess baggage is allowed  but with a additional charge.  If you have to travel to the Galapagos Islands  and there is baggage that you will not be using it is best to do arrangements in advance  so you could leave your luggage in the hotel where you are staying. Most hotels specially in Quito and Guayaquil  have storerooms.
