49.1 COTOPAXI DOWNHILL BIKING DAY
An
8hr. tour heading south of Quito, driving in a 4x4 first class
jeep by the avenue of the volcanoes to reach the Cotopaxi
National Park. At this park we visit Limpiopungo lake (paramo
grasslands) and continue driving uphill to 15.000 ft, for
a 4 hour downhill biking experience towards the park entrance.
On the way we pass across the paramo and through the forest
enjoying different views of this snow-capped volcano. A box
lunch is included at arrival to the Misahuaico River. Finally,
we return to Quito.

49.2 PAPALLACTA - AMAZON AND THERMAL SPRINGS DOWNHILL
Drive
east from Quito to the "Paso de la Virgen" mountain range.
Downhill bike through the paramo (Ecuadorian equivalent of
the arctic tundra) to the low mountain cloud forest of Cuyuja
on the gateway to the jungle. Thereafter we drive back to
Papallacta and stop for a relaxing bath at the thermal springs.
After lunch, we are driven to 14,000 ft. for a downhill biking
to 7900 ft. ending in Tumbaco. Finally, we return to Quito.

49.3 PULULAHUA - MINDO DOWNHILL BIKING DAY
Drive
northwards through the Valley of the Middle of the World.
Short stop to at the equatorial monument. This is an opportunity
to straddle on the Equator for a unique picture. Continue
our trip to the rim of the Pululahua inhabited crater. This
is a geo-botanical reserve with a picturesque agricultural
area in the bottom. Thereafter we drive to Calacalí and cycle
westwards over the Andes descending to Mindo cloud forest
(birds paradise). At Mindo we have a box lunch and return
to Quito.

49.4 PICHINCHA DOWNHILL BIKING DAY
Early
morning pick up from the hotel to reach the top of the still
active Guagua Pichincha Volcano, including a trek to the rim
of the crater where it is possible to have views of the fumes.
Later we begin our downhill bike to Lloa on an abandoned dirt
road through the paramo. It's an opportunity to enjoy spectacular
views of Quito and numerous snow-covered volcanoes such as
Cayambe, Antisana and Cotopaxi. At Lloa we head west to the
local hot springs where we have a box lunch and return to
Quito.

(50.1; 51.1) COTOPAXI BIKING TRIP 2D/1N
Day
1: Similar itinerary to Cotopaxi downhill biking day with
overnight at: 4* (H. La Ciénega), 5* (suite H. La Ciénega)
Day 2: Morning visit to a local Indian market, depending
on the day: Latacunga (Tuesday and Saturday), Pujilí (Wednesday
and Sunday) or Saquisilí (Thursday). Then we cycle along rural
dirt roads back to our hotel. After lunch we return to Quito.

(50.2; 51.2) OTAVALO AND LAKES BIKING TRIP 2D/1N
Day
1: Heading north from
Quito to the crater lake of Mojanda in the Cotacachi-Cayapas
Ecological Reserve to bike around this area and continue downhill
to Otavalo and San Pablo lake. Finally, we cycle around the
lake through picturesque Indian villages at the slopes of
the Imbabura volcano. Overnight at: 3* (H. Chorlavi) or 4*
(H. Cusin), 4* ( H. Puerto Lago), 4* (Pinsaqui) or 5* (H.
La Mirage)
Day 2: Downhill from Cuicocha Crater Lake (14.500 ft.)
through small villages to Otavalo; where we visit the textile
and hand embroidered handicrafts market. Finally, we return
to Quito.

(50.3; 51.3) COTOPAXI AND QUILOTOA BIKING TRIP 2D/1N
Day
1: Similar to Cotopaxi Biking Trip 2D/1N with overnight
at: 4*(H. La Ciénega), 5* (suite H. La Ciénega)
Day 2: Early drive southwest into the western Andes.
Bike downhill to Zumbahua (small Andean village famous for
it's weekend llama market). If it's Saturday we visit a colorful
Indian market. After lunch we bike to the rim of Quilotoa
crater with spectacular views of this aquamarine-colored lake.
Finally, we return to Quito.

Day
1: Similar to Papallacta - Amazon and Thermal Springs
Downhill Biking Day with overnight at Cueva's de Albaro Inn
(4*). Horseback riding and beautiful trails are available
at inn during the afternoon.
Day 2: Early drive to Cuyuja where we descend by bike
into the Amazon basin through tropical rain
forest to reach San Rafael Fall, the biggest in Ecuador. After
a lunch stop we return to Quito.

52 CLIMBING
Day
1: Early departure
heading south through the avenue of the volcanoes until we
enter the Cotopaxi national park. After a drive up to 15.000
ft, we climb to the refuge hut located at 15.500 ft. Lunch
and dinner will be prepared there. Time to relax and to sleep
during the afternoon.
Day 2: At 2am we begin the climb for six hours. We
will have the opportunity to admire the sunrise at the top
of the volcano (19,800 feet), breakfast at the shelter and
then we return to Quito.

53 TREK/CAMPING AROUND COTOPAXI VOLCANO (5 DAYS)
Day
1: We depart from Quito following the Pan-American Highway
to Lasso towards the Pita river's valley. We will hike about
2 or 3 hours to the Tamboyacu river and there we will set
up our camp.
Day 2 : We will hike for 6 hours towards the Quilindaña
lakes, we cross the Tambo River. We set up our camp and there
we will have the chance to rest and relax.
Day 3: The trek reaches its highest altitude. We will
set up our camp at the Cotopaxi glacier at 16.000 ft. If we
have the chance we climb the Morurco mountain ( 17.000 ft.).
Day 4: After a 6 hour trek, we set up our last camp
in a forest near Marie Ranch.
Day 5 : We will depart by car to Lasso until we get
to Quito.

54 TREKKING ANTISANA (4 DAYS)
Day
1 : We depart in the morning from Quito to El Tablón.
At this Indian village we will load our gear on horseback
and set off toward the valley of "La Dormida". We cross
a Polylepis forest. Campsite by a river at 11.500 ft.
Day 2 : We reach 12.800 ft. and walk down towards
the next valley. We descend to Papallacta volcano-lake and
there set up our camp.
Day 3 : We go uphill to reach the plateau of Antisana
and admire the variety of flora that can be found only in
the Andes. We set camp at 13.600 ft.
Day 4 : Early in the morning we head toward the end
of the plateau to admire amazing views of the Antisana. We
then continue to Papallacta and enjoy the thermal springs.
In the afternoon we will return to Quito.

55 ENDURO TOURS
This
is a full day motorcycle tour. We leave Quito to different
destinations such as Pululahua Volcano, Mojanda Lakes, Chaupi-Cotopaxi.
You choose the trip depending on your experience in this activity.

56 RAFTING TOUR ONE DAY
We
depart from Quito early in the morning in direction to the
Toachi and Blanco Rivers (Class III- III+) . Be prepared to
experiment an unforgettable adventure. You will admire the
beauty and the sounds of the Ecuadorian forest. This trip
will take between 3 or 4 hours depending on the water levels.
We then have a box-lunch at the river's shore . Finally we
go back to Quito .

57 RAFTING TOUR TWO DAYS
Day
1: We depart from Quito early in the morning to Santo
Domingo and then we arrive to the Toachi and Blanco Rivers
(class III-III+). We will navigate up 40 kilometers of the
best whitewater east of the Andes. Depending on the water
levels this tour should take between 4 or 5 hours. In the
afternoon our camp (hotel is optional) will be waiting for
us. Dinner at the camp.
Day 2: We descend the Blanco River were thrilling rapids
and more paddling await us. We will have our lunch and then
return to Quito.

58 KAYAK INTRODUCTORY COURSE 2 DAYS
Day
1 : We depart from Quito early in the morning to the Santo
Domingo area . At the Toachi river we will reach our put-in
and will begin practicing the esquimo roll, paddle technique
and basic navigation. In the afternoon we will have lunch
and then continue paddling down to test your skill. We will
spend 4 or 5 hours in the water. Finally we spend the night
at a local hotel.
Day 2 : The next day we'll continue developing your
techniques through a bigger and more thrilling rapids. In
the afternoon after lunch we return to Quito.
